Important Update About Domestic UPI Feature
Niyo Pay UPI will be discontinued on 22nd September 2025. This change won't affect your Niyo savings account, debit card, credit card, or forex services. You can continue to load money to your savings account/debit card, make payments for travel and other services in the Niyo app using all popular third-party UPI apps. Here's everything you need to know about what's changing, what stays the same, and how you can continue making UPI payments using other apps.
Moving forward: Focusing on global payments, discontinuing UPI services
At Niyo, our mission has always been to make global payments seamless, transparent, and rewarding for our customers.
Over the years, we’ve introduced features that help travellers, students, and professionals manage their money effortlessly - no matter where they are in the world.
A couple of years ago, we launched domestic UPI payments in the Niyo app, and we’ve noticed that some of our users are using these features.
As part of our journey, we’re making an important change:
We will be discontinuing domestic Niyo Pay UPI services on the Niyo app effective 22nd September 2025.
This decision allows us to sharpen our focus on cross-border payments - building solutions that help you save more and spend smarter when you travel, study, or transact internationally.
What this means for you
New UPI transactions will not be allowed on Niyo Pay after 22nd September 2025
Niyo Pay UPI transaction history will remain available in the app for 180 days after discontinuation
UPI disputes can be raised for up to 180 days from the date of each transaction
Niyo Coins you’ve earned remain completely safe and can be redeemed as usual
UPI IDs linked to Niyo Pay will be deleted after discontinuation
No impact on your Niyo Savings Account, debit card, or other Niyo services. This includes using UPI to load your cards, pay for Niyo travel bookings. Access to your savings account from popular UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, etc. will continue to work.
What stays the same
Your Niyo Savings Account and debit card features remain unaffected. You can continue using them for domestic and international transactions as always. Our goal is to ensure your banking and payment experience stays seamless.
