- Ensure the confidentiality of personal information and login/password details.
- Log out of your banking application after use.
- Lock your mobile phone when not in use.
- Do not store confidential information such as passwords or card numbers on your mobile phone.
- Review your banking activity logs regularly.
- Register with your bank for SMS and email alerts.
- Always check your bank statements, as they can help detect any unauthorised transactions.
Protect Yourself from Fraud
Beware of unsolicited emails, phone calls, SMS, or social media messages asking for confidential information such as User ID, Password, Debit Card Number, OTP, etc. Do not share such information with third parties.
Be cautious of shoulder surfers who may peep over your shoulder and record your password.
Avoid revealing your mobile password around others or in crowded places.
Be wary of rogue, fake, or similar-looking mobile apps. To verify the validity of the Niyo application, check that the developer’s email ID ends in “@goniyo.com”.
If you experience:
- An extended period of no mobile network connectivity
- Do not receive calls or SMS
Contact your telephone service provider from another phone to verify if your SIM is valid. If your SIM is invalid, immediately inform your bank.
